Dear Friends,

The beauty and chaos of the holiday season are well upon us, and it is more important than ever to stop and reflect upon the reasons behind the rituals. Over the next four weeks we will celebrate the longest night of the year, a single days worth of lamp oil burning for 8 days, the birth of a child, and the arrival of a fresh new year. Words like peace, love, hope, joy, and generosity take center stage, but are all too often lost in translation from speech to action.

This season, why not make a conscious effort to affect positive change. Start your New Year's resolution early and be a conscious giver. Choose gifts that reflect your values and the true meaning of the season. This may be as simple as giving the gift of time to a child, love to a friend in need, or patience to an aging parent. If you do decide to include more tangible items among the many gifts you have to offer this season, decide how you can spend your money on things that accelerate positive change and move towards sustainability.

And, most importantly, take the extra moment to breathe! Everyone will love the gift of a more grounded you!

Happy Holidays,

Frank Angiuli

persona
Michael Franti

"Right now, people ask me, 'What can one person do to change what's going on with the world?' I don't know what one person can do except to connect with other people. In doing that, each of us play our roles."
- Michael Franti.

Michael Franti, the front man of Spearhead, is widely known in peace and justice circles for tackling a wide range of social and political issues, both inside and outside the recording studio. In his first movie "I Know I'm Not Alone," currently screening around the world, Franti documents his travels to the Middle East to explore the human cost of war.

Franti is also a dedicated yogi. He claims yoga is "changing me a lot and I'm generally happier and healthier and better able to reflect loving light... Yoga helps us to find ourselves and find our center so that we can enact that sense of centeredness in the world. It's really about the union between self and a higher power, and the body is such a perfect instrument for that."

Franti is featured in the June 2006 issue of Yoga Journal wearing Natural High Lifestyle. In the article, entitled "Inspired Style: Six Eco-Conscious Yogis Show Us How What You Wear Is A Reflection Of Not Only Who You Are, But Also What You Stand For," Franti wears our 100% bamboo Basic Tee and the California Pant. He says about the tee, "Bamboo grows without pesticides or chemicals and doesn't require irrigation… and regenerates quickly; it's also completely biodegradable." Franti also wore Natural High Lifestyle to the Sundance screening of his movie "I Know I'm Not Alone."
